Trusted cycling gear guides,
with the working shown

Published specs, cited sources, live prices, and arithmetic you can re-run. We haven’t tested any of it — and that’s exactly why you can check everything we say.

A first pair of bibs, bought to answer a question you can't answer any other way

The cheapest sensible way to find out whether bibs work for you — and its listing publishes more than the ones costing three times as much.

Why it won →

Prices live from Amazon as of Jul 17, 2026. We earn a commission if you buy — here’s how that works. #ad

Everyone in this category says they tested twenty bikes. We have not tested any, and we say so.

We have no lab, no test fleet and no testers. Not one product on this site has been in our hands. We could hide that behind the usual phrasing — “in our testing”, “our experts” — and you’d have no way of catching us. That’s exactly why we don’t.

So here’s what we do instead.

We read the manufacturer’s published specs and tell you they’re the seller’s claims, not facts. We compute running costs and show every input, rate and date so you can re-run the arithmetic. We cite third-party test data with its conflicts disclosed— the big chain-wear dataset everyone quotes as “independent” comes from an outfit that sells the lubricants it tests, and we say so every single time. And when nobody has published a number, we print that instead of inventing one.

Four pages that show what this site is for: the arithmetic nobody else publishes, the conflict nobody else discloses, and the two facts the industry would rather you didn’t know.

How this is funded

Chainring Clubis funded entirely by Amazon Associates commission. If you buy through a link here we earn a percentage, at no extra cost to you. Commission never decides a pick — every roundup on this site names at least one product to skip, and our rankings routinely put cheap things above expensive ones, which is the opposite of what a commission-maximising site does. We accept no sponsored placements and no free products.
